September National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month. In accordance with the proclamation of President Barack Obama and the Let’s Move health initiative of First Lady Michele Obama, the National Congress of Black Women, Los Angeles Chapter (NCBW-LAC) will recognize September 2011 as National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month; and also designates September 10, 2011 as National Childhood Obesity Awareness Day.
NCBW-LAC will host a day of learning and physical activity for elementary school age children and their parents. Under the oversight of Chef Connie Bass, owner of WORLD WAY WEST GRILL, 7307 World Way West, Los Angeles, CA 90045, LA’s finest chefs will instruct students on the culinary art of healthy meal planning and preparation.
